Experienced scuba divers will enjoy diving into the Vuma Caves, south of Kilifi Creek. The caves are about 20 metres under the sea close to the cliffs. Inside the caves lurk huge Grouper fish, eels and Barracuda. Occasionally dolphins can be seen playing in the open sea close to the caves.

There is a dive school by Barracuda, a well-known German company, at the Mnarani Hotel / South Creek, offering all levels of knowledge, the opportunity to dive along the vast coral reef or experience the challenging Vuma Caves.

Although there is currently no deep-sea charter boat operating out of Kilifi, some of the best deep-sea fishing in the world is available off Watamu and Malindi, 50 kms to the North. Hemingways Resort and Kingfisher offer excellent charters in well-maintained boats for the chance to catch Sailfish, Marlin, Broadbill, Giant Trevally, Shark and Barracuda plus a whole flotilla of other fish. Tag and release policies are encouraged for most species of fish.
